About Oklahoma!...

The feisty Laurey lives on a farm with her Aunt Eller in Oklahoma Territory. A handsome cowboy, Curly, really likes Laurey, but neither is ready to admit they care for the other. Another cowboy, Will Parker, wants to marry Laurey’s friend Ado Annie. But Ado Annie “Cain’t Say No” to any man – including the local Peddler.

Curly comes to call on Laurey ask her to the Box Social, but Aunt Eller’s farmhand has already asked Laurey, and Laurey tells Curly she will go with Jud. That night at the social Laurey and Curly finally admit their true feelings for each other, and plan to be married.

Jud is jealous. Although he was fired from the farm, he shows up unexpectedly at the wedding and tries to make trouble. Curly challenges him and stops him from hurting anyone. The show ends with the whole chorus celebrating the brand new state of “Oklahoma!”
